Who We Are

At Calvary Chapel Kommetjie we place a strong emphasis on the teaching of the Bible. Our Lord Jesus said, "know the truth and the truth will set you free",

Sunday mornings you will find the following...

• Simplicity: in style of meeting.
• Worship: a mixing of contemporary worship with hymns.
• Bible Teaching: We teach through books of the Bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.
• Prayer: We seek to be a praying Church.
• Fellowship: Enjoy sweet fellowship with us after the service with good coffee, tea and something to nibble on.

Sunday's for the Young:

• The toddlers (2 to 4 years) meet in the library area, where they are given a simplistic Bible lesson and fun crafts by three dedicated toddler Moms who love this time, and the little ones love it too!
• Sunday School uses Kommetjie School. There is worship, Bible teaching, memory verses, crafts, lots of fun, love, snacks, and little incentives:-)
• Senior Youth Sunday Study meets after worship in the youth room and they are led in a Bible Study and discussion by Jason (Who's really just a big kid himself...)
• Baby room: The service is televised to a comfortable baby room and to the foyer area.

During the week:

• Moms and Tots There is a lot of love, support and prayer by this lovely team of Moms. They meet on Tues. 3pm, usually at one of the Mom's homes. The time is led with prayer, bible study, fellowship, including tea and nibbles.
• Wednesday Kononia (Fellowship) and prayer meets at the Church at 7pm, (Come a little earlier for fellowship and tea). Begining with the Word, worship & leading in to prayer!
• 'School of Ministry' gathers on Wednesday evenings after the Koinonia praise and worship and is a study through the Bible with key notes. It starts at 8pm. Julian facilitates the meeting which is an interactive study, characterised by worship, prayer & teaching.
• Ladies Thursday Morning prayer and Bible Study 9.30 am begining with prayer, worship, and Bible study.
• Surf Bible Study meet at 6.30pm at No. 5 Kingfisher way, Kommetjie 021 783 5515. Frequented by young surfers and facilitated by John Bromily.
• Junior Youth (Fri. evenings) (grades 6 and below) meet at 5.30 pm at the Church Building and have a lot of fun and games, worship and teaching finishing at 7pm.
• Senior Youth (Fri. nights) meet at 7.30 to 10pm with games (Pool table, mini soccer, music, coffee hatch, table tennis, Basket ball hoop..) they also have a time of Bible teaching and discussion.
• Mens Fellowship meet every first Saturday of the month for Breakfast, incl worship and the word. All invited.
• Ladies Special Meetings: Our ladies have a number of differing events through out the year. All invited.
